Me Time.

Men.

As a female College Student I feel like the way men see me impacts a lot of my decisions. From pictures I post, clothes I wear, places I go, I’m subconsciously thinking about how attractive I’ll look. Is it just me??

Doubt it.

But, if I’m being honest, I’m so over thinking about finding the “perfect” guy that’s cute enough, sweet enough, smart enough, funny enough, tall enough (let’s be honest) and has the right amount of abs that looks like he works out, but doesn’t try too hard. I’m tired of making men a priority in my life and not focusing on the amazing opportunities and people God has put in my life now.

I know I’m not the only one, therefore I’m gonna start a blog series called “Me Time.” This series is going to focus on how we can shape and mold ourselves into the women Christ wants us to be and how,as young women, we need to focus in on the path Christ has for us aside from men.

Will these posts have certain feminist qualities ? Yes.

Will we talk about stuff that might be a little embarrassing and awkward? Ofcourse!

It’s gonna be fun, weird, uncomfortable, and inspiring all at the same time! I can’t wait!

As always, if you need prayer or want to share your testimony comments or message me!

Don’t forget to Like, Comment, Share your kind thoughts and opinions.

GOD BLESS!!

This is not a Joke!

This morning I found out that a friend of mine committed suicide.

Sadly, it wasn’t incredibly shocking.

So often we brush mental illness under the rug or treat it like it’s not a very big deal.

MENTAL ILLNESS IS NOT A JOKE.

It’s not a choice and it’s not a crock. It’s real and it hurts.

If someone tells you they are struggling with depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, etc. don’t just write them off. It takes courage and strength to admit to yourself, let alone someone else, that your hurting.

Instead of telling them to get over it or buck up, pray with them and then pray for them continuously. Be their rock when they can’t stand on their own two feet. Treat them with respect, love, and kindness.

Love them.

Love them hard.

>>> this is my second friend in 3 years that has committed suicide. Please don’t be like me. Don’t feel guilty and ashamed because you wish you would’ve done more. Instead do more.

This is a terrible feeling to have and one that I cannot express

If you or a loved one are thinking about committing suicide PLEASE call this number:

Or you can always inbox me and I will talk with you and pray with you.

Please take mental illness seriously.

Not of this World.

So, since coming back to school I’ve started to feel a bit lost. I love having fun and hanging out with my friends, but I also like to wake up the next morning with no regrets.

In college, drinking and getting wasted is the thing to do. There are so many people whose sole purpose on a Friday night is to get obliterated and damage their liver. But, as a Christian who wants to live a Godly life it’s so hard to not want to have fun like your peers.

Last night while all my friends were drinking I decided not to. I told them up front that I didn’t want any alcohol and insisted on only drinking lemonade. The crazy thing was I got made fun of for it! I was considered the “prude” of the group. Here’s the craziest part -all of us were Christians . (Some people might say that my friends aren’t, but since I’m not God I’m not gonna speak for Him. We’ve all fallen short.)

This confused me because as part of the body of Christ we are called to hold each other accountable, but instead I was made fun of.

Sometimes doing what God says and following His law is not popular or easy. You’ll definitely have to make some sacrifices along the way. But you’ll wake up the next day knowing that you are following in what the Lord wants and asks of you. And I’m telling you, it’s a reward that has no competition .

Like and comment stories where you had to be strong in the Lord even when it wasn’t popular. Also, comment your prayer request too.
